In this episode of Old Town New World, we talk with South Carolina Representative and Pints and Politics host Heath Sessions for a wide-ranging conversation about small-town living, state government, and the future of healthcare. Sessions discusses his unexpected path into public service, his push for fiscal accountability and transparency in the medical system, and his belief that politics should serve people above party lines. The discussion moves thoughtfully from tax policy and mental health to the changing entertainment landscape in Rock Hill.
Sessions earned his B.A. from the University of South Carolina in 2004 before building a career in land clearing and construction, eventually becoming Vice President of a Rock Hill contracting firm. In 2022, he was elected to represent South Carolina’s 46th District in York County. He lives in Rock Hill with his wife, Kristin, and their three children—Emma, Ben, and Asher—and remains actively involved in his church and community organizations.
