A Paradigm Shift in Workforce Development

Supply & Demand Inversion

Every small city, town, and rural community across the US is struggling with workforce development. Many, though, have not fully come to embrace a significant paradigm shift that has taken place in the arena of workforce economics. No longer are jobs the demand and workers the supply. The equation has flipped over. Now people wanting to work is the demand, and available jobs is the supply. People search for jobs online like they are shopping for shoes. They are consumers of jobs. And businesses need to design their jobs to consumer demand and market their jobs effectively, just like they do their products, if they want workers to desire them and be willing to “pay” for them (with their time, energy, and dedication).

AI & Technology Impact

Communities need a wholly new approach to workforce development if they want to succeed over the next 10, 20, 30 years in a changing economy being reshaped by AI and other technological advances.

“Jason provided our group with a great mix of data, humor, and insights that were informative and entertaining at the same time. He planted seeds and impressions that I know will resonate in our community in the coming months. We’ve received very positive feedback from attendees. He was a hit for sure!” — B Gorman, President & CEO of Tahoe Chamber
